Perfect Strangers- Santa Cruz

A morning that started with crap surf and cloudy skies worked in my favor.

Surfer boys were coming out of the water in droves.

These are the three I stopped to chat with.

  

Traveling with a random light leak

Between weddings for Studio Starling (nice plug Lizz)

I took a trip, armed with my Hasselblad 

and it's as of yet undiscoverd light leak

My two sons

We set off across America 52 hrs from 

Chicago to San Francisco.

No land speed records were set.

Maybe he was a cowboy

This is work from my perfect strangers project. One frame, and I wasn't happy with the one frame. I was disappointed with myself. I was so excited and nervous when I shot this that I didn't take the time I should have it's dark. Not

what I had visualized.

 Now after some time, the portrait and I have made friends. It's not perfect but it's mine.

This was his land, I felt it told a story about him as well.

It's all UUSI to me!

I had the great pleasure of photographing Linnea and Peter the husband and wife

super duo of Uusi

There really isn't anything more fun to me than going around and photographing the

amazing talent we have in this fair city.

Not only are they creative these two make a mean batch of cookies.

Perfect Strangers- Ohio

Just about covers it.

I'm just gonna just come out and shout it from the rooftops!
A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of my image being on the cover of Time Out Chicago

This sent me over the moon, I was honored and just plain excited.

But this wasn't all. No! Not by a long shot. I had the wonderful pleasure of 

photographing two families that live in amazing spaces, who opened their doors to me and let me

photograph them and what they love about their home

Mark and Patrick were lovely, their home was fun and creative and welcoming.

The next family was the Picklman Family

Their space was bright and creative and if I could 

figure out how to live in a space that was surrounded by art I'd be a happy happy girl

This is the portrait I loved.

FUNctional art.... The only way to go.

Perfect Strangers

New project. All film.

Believe it or not. I am a shy person. I can fake it well.

This project is about connecting to other people.

 I ASK them if I can photograph them. I shoot one frame of film then

I have to give them some of my time. Connect with them.

I also feel like I shoot a lot. Why can't I try to take my time and get the shot in one?

I've got 12 images on a roll of 120. I give myself one shot at each person.

Once again Time Out asked me to shoot some awesome ladies.

Her space was spare and the light was amazing.... Much like her work.

Next I photographed Maria Gaspar, again I felt so lucky to meet her

Her space and little bits of ideas everywhere. 

She also had the BEST red shoes... (not shown)

Time Out and the Waxman

Off the Scales

My cool factor is now off the scales. According to the Comic Book readers in my home.

I got to hang out with Art Baltazar the creator of many comic book favorites in my house hold.
